Wi-Fi Hotspot
Wi-Fi Hotspot provides your customers with easy wireless Internet access when dining while keeping your business communications and credit card transactions segregated and secure. The managed Wi-Fi Hotspot from SecureConnect is properly segmented from the restaurant’s private network in order to eliminate security issues that are posed with other wireless solutions. In addition, optional Wi-Fi access points can be added in a larger restaurant setting in order to provide consistent service to all areas of your restaurant.
The positive correlation between Wi-Fi service and guest return visits is not something to ignore. A 2009 study by Hospitality Technology shows that tech-savvy customers prefer restaurants with Wi-Fi access, indicating that these establishments can gain a positive return on their wireless Internet investment.
SecureConnect's robust Wi-Fi Hotspot solution includes:
Security
Managed Wi-Fi segments Internet traffic so that store traffic (like credit transactions) and patron traffic (like sending and receiving e-mail) are not visible to one another on the network or over the Internet, thereby eliminating security issues that are posed with other hotspot solutions.
Rogue Access Point Detection
The SecureConnect Wi-Fi enabled firewall detects unauthorized access points installed on the network that have not been granted explicit authorization. SecureConnect authorizes specific devices and treats all other access points as rogue. The SecureConnect rogue access point detection is a wireless intrusion prevention system, meaning continual scanning occurs to help identify rogue access points on the network. Rogue access points will immediately be detected and alerts are provided to the SecureConnect Network Operations Center. Upon notification of these alerts, the support team will thoroughly investigate. Full logs are maintained of detection and response, and follow PCI retention requirements.
Multiple SSIDs
When a Wi-Fi hotspot is deployed in the environment, SecureConnect allows the configuration of multiple SSIDs. An SSID is what a user accessing Wi-Fi sees as the network name. Public SSIDs and private SSIDs can be configured to create separate zones for your hotspot and ensure that customers do not have access to the secure network.
Category Filtering
It is vital that the introduction of wireless Internet does not disrupt the restaurant environment with inappropriate content. Advanced content filtering protects organizations and its users from illegal activity, phishing websites, and adult themed content ensuring a safe and family friendly environment.
Business First Priority Bandwidth (BFPB)
SecureConnect Business First Priority Bandwidth shaping technology allows control over network traffic in order to optimize or guarantee performance, low-latency, and/or bandwidth. Since network bandwidth is a limited resource, BFPD helps businesses prioritize and manage costly network services. Business services take precedence over web surfing, multi-media and other low priority services. The Business First Priority Bandwidth will allow credit card processing and network communication to precede customer Internet usage. SecureConnect manages this for customers to ensure business functions come first.
